This product is great modular storage that you can mix and match to fit your decor. With 3 finishes (white, dark espresso, and alder) and a bevvy of colorful fabric bins, wire or wood baskets and other cubicle fillers, it easily adapts to any room in the house. It is a little heavy, being made of particle board but it has also stood up to wear and tear from the cats and the kids.
We purchased the 9 cubicle for our kid's room as a dresser with drawers. We added a cabinet and shelves next to it to hold games and books. The lines are simple, allowing more floor space. And yes, everything can stack together, be secured to the wall or stand alone. We feel that as our child grows and her room theme changes, that the many options offered for the closetmaid system will give us many many miles out of this relatively cheap piece of furniture.

I have two of these systems. They were not difficult to put together--I've put together lots of "assembly required" furniture, and these cube organizers are among the easiest to put together--just read carefully and double check what you're doing before you do it. The shelves themselves are sturdy and versatile. Though not fancy, they are an elegant way of organizing clutter. The drawers allow you to add color to a room, and the shelves allow you to display books or decorative items. I will probably buy another to organize a large and empty bathroom badly in need of storage. Great product for the price!

It was easy to put together and is sturdy. My son was even able to help put it together. The only issue was that shipping was as expensive as the piece.

As another rater said "the picture on the box for this product is false advertising. When you open the product you will discover that the backing for the cubes is flimsy cardboard AND the cardboard pieces are folded in half so you get a crappy seam right down the center." It also wobbles when you put it together, not a sturdy piece at all. I got it at target on sale, for 39.99 not worth a penny, I am taking it back after all that assembly. I won't be buying anymore products from closetmaid.

If tacky cheapness doesn't bother you then go for it. I also found that it did not assemble very nicely either, had gaps and unevenness. It's definitely not worth the $$$ in my opinion. The company that manufactures this product should be ashamed of itself. I returned it and found a similar product that is MUCH better than this one (brand name is Home Essentials).
